##terms

Terms of Service

Terms for using Hypha, including local-first files, Sync beta limits, account rules, the optional Pro plan, refunds and open-source licensing.

Last updated: 2026-07-09

Using Hypha

Hypha is provided as a local-first markdown app. You are responsible for the files, devices, accounts and vaults you choose to use with it. The app is designed to keep your files readable outside Hypha, but you should keep your own backups.

Open-source license

Hypha app source code is distributed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 unless a file states otherwise. The Hypha name, logo and brand are not granted by the code license; forks must rebrand if they distribute a modified product.

Accounts and Sync beta

A Hypha account is optional for the local app and required for the managed Sync and Publish services, which are part of the free plan. Sync is currently a beta service. It is built for zero-knowledge encrypted relay, but availability and performance may change while the service matures.

Do not use Sync for unlawful content or activity, abuse of the service, or attempts to bypass account, seat, quota or security controls.

Subscriptions

Paid plans, prices, billing periods and included limits are shown at checkout. Subscription access depends on successful payment and the account entitlement returned by the payment provider or merchant of record.

No warranty

Hypha is provided as-is, without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Hypha contributors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages.

Changes

These terms may change as Hypha evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new updated date.
